Basin Street Properties Continues Strong Leasing Activity

Granite Construction, Inc. expands and NCS Pearson, Inc. joins tenant roster at California Center in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO – June 8, 2009 – Basin Street Properties (www.basin-street.com), a prominent Northern California and Northern Nevada real estate investor in commercial and mixed-use properties, has signed Granite Construction, Inc. and NCS Pearson, Inc. to five-and-a-half-year lease agreements at its 168,000 sq. ft. Class “A” California Center business park. Granite Construction, Inc., one of the nation's largest diversified heavy civil contractors and construction materials producers, will expand to occupy 21,266 sq. ft. and NCS Pearson, Inc. an international education and information company, will occupy approximately 2,500 sq. ft. of space. Both leases commenced on June 1.

Other marquee California Center tenants include Metrocities Mortgage, Federal Express, Provident Funding, SRA International and the American Red Cross. The Granite Construction lease deal was brokered by Craig Brinitzer of Cornish & Carey on behalf of Granite and Stranzl represented Basin Street. The NCS Pearson lease deal was handled by Ali Nadimi of CB Richard Ellis on behalf of NCS Pearson and Basin Street was represented by Ed Overman of CB Richard Ellis.

California Center is located at 8950 Center Drive, conveniently adjacent to Highway 50 off Watt Avenue, which is a major thoroughfare and key connector to Highway 80. The corporate campus offers a health facility on site, a variety of retail options within walking distance and is in close proximity to the Light Rail station.
