Banyan Tree Thai Restaurant Opens in Petaluma's
Golden Eagle Shopping Center

Basin Street Properties Continues to Bring a Diverse Mix
of Tenants to Central Petaluma

PETALUMA, Calif., – Dec. 13, 2006 – Basin Street Properties, a prominent Northern California and Northern Nevada developer of commercial and mixed-use properties, announced its newest tenant to the Golden Eagle Center – Banyan Tree. Located at 20 E. Washington Street across the Petaluma River from the Theatre District, Banyan Tree, an authentic Thai and California cuisine restaurant, is occupying a 1,904 sq. ft. retail space.

"We at Basin Street are pleased to bring another diverse tenant to Golden Eagle," said Scott Stranzl, vice president of leasing at Basin Street Properties. "Banyan Tree is the first and only Asian-themed restaurant in one of Petaluma's historical shopping centers, and joins such popular establishments as Dempsey's, Waterfront Grill and Cucina Paradiso. A direct reflection of community needs, we continue to strive in offering different dining options and securing quality tenants for Golden Eagle Center."

Veteran restaurant owner, Paul Yokakul, who owned and operated a Thai restaurant in San Francisco for 20 years, teamed up with his sister, Nit Anderson, to extensively remodel the space with imported Thailand décor. Banyan Tree opened its doors for business on Nov. 20.

"We chose the Golden Eagle Center because of its proximity to downtown Petaluma and it's a central location for both East and West side residences," said Anderson. "My family brings more than two decades of restaurant ownership experience and a lifetime of cooking and traveling throughout Asia. Banyan Tree provides authentic Thai traditions and California cuisine influences for a unique dining experience."

The Golden Eagle Center was built in 1970 and is located on the Petaluma River and the Turning Basin, across from Petaluma's new downtown Theatre District.
