Haus Fortuna Brings "Good Fortune" to Downtown Petaluma
Specialty Italian-Imports Retailer Relocates to Prime Location in Basin Street's Bustling Theatre District
PETALUMA, Calif. – September 2, 2005 - Basin Street Properties, the North Bay's prominent developer of commercial and mixed-use properties in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties, has signed a 5-year lease for 2,467sq. ft. of space with Haus Fortuna, a retailer featuring distinctive Italian items, in Petaluma's Theatre District. Haus Fortuna is moving from its original location in the Great Petaluma Mill, a historic building adjacent to the Theatre District, to the very high-profile corner retail space across from Boulevard Cinemas, the new 12-screen movie theater. The lease is set to commence in October 2005.

The new store will be significantly larger than its original size in The Mill. Owner Karla Schikore plans on increasing her existing line of fine products to include copper cookware, mushroom truffles, Italian dolls, and treats from Muzzi bakery, which are all imported directly from Italy.
"After opening Haus Fortuna three and a half years ago, I continue to expand my product lines to include those that are unique to Italy but are not available elsewhere," said Schikore. "I look forward to moving into the Theatre District. It is an ideal location giving us more space and increased visibility to local shoppers and theater goers."
