Marking its 100-Year Anniversary, Petaluma Chamber of Commerce Moves to Historic Downtown Location

Chamber to Occupy Space at the Great Petaluma Mill

PETALUMA, Calif. – September 2, 2005 - Basin Street Properties, the North Bay's prominent developer of commercial and mixed-use properties in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties, has signed a 5-year lease with the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce for 2,240-sq. ft. of office space at the Great Petaluma Mill. The Mill, which is currently being converted from a combination of office/retail space to primarily office space, is situated along the Petaluma River across from the thriving Theatre District – the cornerstone of Basin Street's downtown redevelopment project. The lease is set to commence in October 2005.

"The Chamber is one of Petaluma's oldest and strongest business organizations, and we are thrilled that it will be among our downtown tenants," said Scott Stranzl, vice president of leasing, Basin Street Properties. "The Mill is a high profile Petaluma building and its downtown location will be ideal for the Chamber as it continues to serve and support local businesses and professions."

With Basin Street facilitating the lease agreement, the current tenant, Old Republic Title Company, will donate to the Chamber some of its existing office resources, including furniture and wiring cables, valued at $10,000. The new space includes a conference room and is in close proximity to event locations and the Petaluma City Hall.

"We are turning 100 years young and are ready to embark on a new beginning. Basin Street's outstanding work on renovating and redeveloping the downtown district was a driving force in our decision to relocate to the area. Further, the Mill's location is incredibly advantageous for us as it will give the Chamber increased accessibility to the community at our members at large," said Onita Pellegrini, CEO of the Chamber.

Basin Street has long been a member of in the Chamber. The company's founder and former President Bill White, and his wife Pat have both served as past presidents. The company has also been involved in the leadership program almost every year since the program was founded.
