Contemporary Design, International Cuisine and Riverfront Seating – Graffiti to Bring Metropolitan Appeal to Basin Street Landing
Property Occupancy Reaches 100 Percent as Stylish Full Service Restaurant Moves in, Prepares for Summer Opening
PETALUMA, Calif. – April 22, 2005 - Basin Street Properties, the leading developer of commercial and mixed-use properties in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties, has signed a 10-year lease at Petaluma’s Basin Street Landing for 5,100 sq. ft. with Graffiti, a contemporary restaurant, bar and lounge serving international cuisine. The Landing, part of historic downtown’s Theatre District – the mixed-use retail/residential/commercial development – has reached 100 percent capacity. Graffiti is slated to open its doors in June 2005.
“Reaching full occupancy at Basin Street Landing is quite a milestone,” said Scott Stranzl, vice president of leasing, Basin Street Properties. “It’s exciting to see all of our downtown plans, from residential to retail to commercial, taking concrete form in the mix of tenants now calling it home. Graffiti will fit perfectly into the Theater District, providing the Petaluma community with ambiance and a unique dining experience.”
“We see Basin Street Landing and the Theatre District as the cornerstone of downtown Petaluma,” said Mark McGowan, managing partner of Graffiti. “The location is ideal, the building is beautiful, and we are excited about the energy that the Theatre District will bring to the downtown area.”
Graffiti is a contemporary restaurant owned by local Sonoma County residents and managed by Petaluma residents, Mark and Maureen McGowan. The restaurant will focus on delivering high-quality international cuisine using the abundance of exceptional products available in Sonoma County. The restaurant will accommodate up to 300 people with a layout that features a spacious full-service bar and lounge, an expansive riverfront outdoor seating area, a formal dining room and a banquet room. The décor will embrace a San Francisco-style dining approach, with design elements that include clean lines, wood trim, unique lighting throughout the restaurant and an open-view kitchen.
“We feel fortunate to be part of the revitalization of downtown Petaluma,” said Maureen McGowan, managing partner of Graffiti. “We want to contribute to the local community by providing jobs as well as creating something special in our own backyard.”
