About Us: Board of Directors (Basin Street Properties)

William C. White

Bill is a co-founder of Basin Street Properties and head of the company’s board of directors. He brings more than four decades of real estate experience and expertise to Basin Street, and his knowledge has proven invaluable since our inception. Mr. White holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Lehigh University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Matthew T. White

Matthew is involved in project assessment and evaluation. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm and is also the lead for finding new projects and opportunities for Basin Street Properties. Prior to his current position, Mr. White was chief financial officer of the firm and before that he launched the company’s industrial development portfolio. Since joining Basin Street in 1994 he has been involved in the acquisition, development and disposition of more than 4,000,000 square feet of office and industrial property. Mr. White holds Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston University and sits on Basin Street Properties’ Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Thomas H. Birdsall

Mr. Birdsall is President of Sonoma Mountain Group, and formed Basin Street Hospitality with Matthew T. White and Basin Street Properties in 2007. Mr. Birdsall is involved in strategic planning, project evaluation, franchise selection and hotel operations. As President of Sonoma Mountain Group, Mr. Birdsall has led the turnaround of the Sheraton Sonoma County–Petaluma Hotel into one of the top performing hotels in the region with guest satisfaction scores among the top five percent for its category in North America. Prior to forming Sonoma Mountain Group Mr. Birdsall had an 18-year career at the international consulting firm of Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett, Inc. Mr. Birdsall received an A.B. in economics from U.C. Berkeley, and a Masters in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

John Barella

John is the founder and CEO of North Bay Construction, Inc. a General Engineering construction company established in 1976. North Bay Construction, Inc is regarded as one of the premier construction companies in Northern California specializing in Grading, Paving and Underground Utility construction with annual revenues in excess of $100M. Mr. Barella is a strong supporter and participant of various non-profit organizations such as Boys & Girls Club of America, Hospice and Petaluma Educational Foundation.
